5 Ways to Support Your Dance Program

Benjamin, Regional Funk Manager at SoundKreations, began his adventure in dance at the age of 16 when he was accepted into the prestigious Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede. For four years he trained amongst some of the most talented youth Calgary has ever known and explored various forms of dance and vocal training.

It was during those first four years that he encountered and came to love the world of hip-hop dance. Since that introduction years ago, Benjamin has had the privilege to attend workshops led by some of the top choreographers from Vancouver, Toronto, and Los Angeles.

After being awarded with the BP Amaco scholarship in his final year of Young Canadians, Ben went on to teach at various schools and studios around Calgary. It was his love for dance and his ability to communicate the art-form that soon earned him a place in the Calgary hip-hop troupe “Wildcard Productions” and it was with this group that he toured Australia while teaching workshops.

Most recently Ben has returned from a 6 month adventure performing aboard a European cruise line. He is excited to be back in Calgary and sharing his love for dance with the youth of his home town.

When Ben isn’t teaching hip-hop he is working as an in-home personal trainer and singing around town with his acappella group “The A Cappella Fellas”.
